To all my valued clients and referring doctors I hope you all are safe and well in these highly unusual and challenging times.

I have made the decision to make all sessions phone and online with the support of the new medicare Covid items now available to all Australians who are referred by their doctors for psychological support via the Medicare system. At this stage this will be available until the end of September 2020.

I will aim to provide timely and appropriate support to you all and please contact me directly on 3351 2222 or info@newdaypsychology.com.au if you have any queries or concerns.

I will also be bulk-billing health care workers, doctors, nurses, paramedics and front line workers,  and their families and all vulnerable groups during the crisis and also including the following vulnerable groups

*People have had Covid or have been exposed to Covid and are being tested.

* over the age of 70

* People who have chronic illness

* Women who are pregnant or have children under 1 years of age.

*Indigenous people over 50 years

Delivery of mental health care by phone and online is highly effective but I understand that is may be a difficult adjustment for some folks so please let me know if you have any concerns around your care during the crisis.

Why see a Psychologist?

Three million Australians are living with depression and anxiety.  Some reasons people might start to think about seeing a Psychologist might be because they feel an overwhelming sense of sadness and helplessness, and they lack hope in their lives.  Usually their emotional difficulties make it hard for them to function from day to day.  For example, they are unable to concentrate on assignments and their job or school performance suffers as a result.  Their actions are harmful to themselves or to others.  They are troubled by emotional difficulties facing family members or close friends.  There are literally hundreds of reasons why someone might see a Psychologist.  Clinical Psychologists are specially trained health professionals who help people understand their situation, process feelings, and adapt behaviours to enable meaningful and helpful outcomes in their day-to-day lives.
